About us

We were founded in 1991 to design and build friction welding machines, and this is still our main activity. Since 1992 we have also carried out contract welding on our own machines: we weld parts in series and undertake trial welding.

Tens of millions of parts have been made on the machines we have designed and built, from engine valves through railway brake system parts to pump shafts, in many shapes and material combinations.

We use our machines in our own contract welding as well, so their development also draws on the experience of daily series production. Our machines operate worldwide, often with robotic loading, in multi-shift operation.

We hold CL 1 certification under EN 15085-2:2020 for welding railway vehicle parts.

Looking back

Our founders were already working with friction welding in the 1970s, and this experience led to the founding of Harlo Kft. in 1991. Since then we have designed and built six machine types, from the DHL-65 to the DHL-500.
